Over the years, Cookeville Children’s Theatre has brought a wide range of stories to the stage—each one shaped by the students who brought it to life.

This collection represents more than performances. It reflects the growth, collaboration, and creativity of the young artists who have stepped into these roles and made them their own.

Mainstage Productions

At Cookeville Children’s Theatre, our Mainstage Productions are at the heart of what we do.

These are full-scale productions where students step into a professional-style process—working alongside directors, teaching artists, and one another to bring stories to life with depth, discipline, and creativity.

More than performances, these experiences challenge students to grow: to take risks, collaborate, problem-solve, and rise to a shared standard of excellence.

Each November, students from across our community come together to rehearse, build, and perform a full-scale production presented at the Cookeville Performing Arts Center—a valued community partner that allows this work to be shared on a larger stage.

Over the course of a three-week run, the production reaches thousands of audience members across more than 20 performances. Through support from the Tennessee Arts Commission, this work is also shared with school groups from across the region through daytime performances—many students experiencing live theatre for the very first time.

This process is immersive and demanding in the best way—offering young performers the opportunity to be part of something meaningful, collaborative, and far-reaching.

Our Mainstage Productions extend far beyond the stage.

Each fall, we welcome thousands of students from across the region to daytime performances at the Cookeville Performing Arts Center—experiences made possible in part through support from the Tennessee Arts Commission and through our ongoing partnership with this important community venue.

In the evenings and weekends, families and community members gather to experience the same work, creating a shared cultural moment that connects audiences of all ages.
