About Cookeville Children’s Theatre
Who We Are
Cookeville Children’s Theatre (CCT) is the Upper Cumberland’s home for creativity, community, and belonging. Since opening our doors in the mid-1970s, we’ve served thousands of young people through theatre productions, camps, classes, and arts education experiences designed to uplift, empower, and inspire.
At CCT, every child has a place. Whether they’re stepping onstage for the first time, sharpening skills in our Academy classes, designing costumes, singing in rehearsal, or running tech behind-the-scenes, we nurture their confidence, imagination, self-expression, and leadership. We believe theatre changes lives — because we see it happen here every day
Our Story
Founded in the mid-1970s by passionate arts advocates, Cookeville Children’s Theatre has grown from a grassroots community program to a region-wide creative hub. CCT has expanded its educational programming, welcomed thousands of students, and continued its legacy of excellence in youth theatre. From classic musicals to boundary-pushing new works, from small classes to large-scale productions that fill auditoriums, CCT remains committed to cultivating creativity, confidence, and character in every child we serve.
